Portland Incubator Experiment ends software accelerator after 14 years, pauses to redefine support for local startups
The Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE), founded in 2009 and central to Portland’s post-recession tech startup scene, is shutting down its software accelerator and pausing to chart a new direction for supporting local entrepreneurs. PIE’s leadership says the original model has outlived its usefulness amid a shifting entrepreneurial focus toward retail and food/beverage sectors and wants to help reconnect a fractured Oregon startup community.
