Terms of Service
Current published version: 2026-08-30.
The Fold Network
These terms are an agreement between you and The Fold, Corp. They apply to thefold.ai and every community website, app, and service we operate (together, the Fold Network). By accepting these terms once, you agree that they govern your use of the entire Fold Network, including communities you visit or join later. You will not be asked to accept separate terms merely because you use another Fold Network community. Accepting these terms does not by itself join you to every community.
Who may use the Fold Network
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are not old enough to enter a contract where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian permits your use. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you may bind that organization to these terms.
Your network account
One account works across the Fold Network. You must provide your real name and accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly tell us about unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
Each account belongs to one person, and each person may have only one account. You may not share, transfer, sell, or allow another person to use your account.
Your account is not publicly listed by default. Public actions are attributed to your real name. Claiming a profile publicly connects that profile to your account and may show your group memberships. When profile claiming is available, privacy controls will let you hide memberships.
Communities and communications
Joining a community currently subscribes you to its weekly digest and upcoming-events email. You can turn either off at any time without leaving the community. Other alerts, daily messages, and promotional email require a separate choice. Account, safety, and legal notices may still be sent when necessary.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give The Fold, Corp. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, reproduce, adapt, summarize, publish, distribute, and display that content as reasonably needed to operate, improve, and promote the Fold Network, including through feeds, digests, podcasts, videos, social channels, and other distribution formats.
This license ends when your content is deleted, except for reasonable backups, content already shared outside our control, and public discussions we retain in de-identified form. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and grant this license.
Public information and profiles
The Fold Network organizes and summarizes information from public sources. A profile may exist without the subject having an account. People may ask us to claim, correct, or manually remove their profiles. Public-source information and third-party content remain subject to their owners' rights.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law or infringe another person's rights;
- impersonate, deceive, harass, threaten, exploit, or invade another person's privacy;
- distribute malware or spam, manipulate engagement, or interfere with the service;
- circumvent security, moderation, rate limits, or access controls; or
- create accounts or use the service through unauthorized automation.
Search engines and approved integrations may access public pages as permitted by our technical controls. Without our written permission, you may not scrape, bulk copy, republish, commercially exploit, or use Fold Network content or data to train an outside AI model.
Moderation and enforcement
We may review, label, limit distribution of, remove, or preserve content and may restrict or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, community rules, or law; protect people or the service; or address fraud, abuse, or security risks. We may use automated systems and human review. We will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal when practical, but we are not required to host any content.
Our content and service
The Fold Network and its software, design, branding, rankings, summaries, and original content belong to The Fold, Corp. or its licensors. These terms give you permission to use the service, not ownership of it. Feedback you provide may be used without restriction or compensation.
Automated summaries, rankings, profiles, recommendations, and other content may be incomplete or wrong. Third-party links, jobs, events, products, people, and organizations are provided for discovery and are not endorsements or guarantees. Verify important information with its original source. The service does not provide legal, medical, financial, employment, or other professional advice.
Paid features
If we offer a paid feature, its price, billing period, renewal terms, and additional conditions will be shown before purchase. Recurring subscriptions continue until canceled. Cancellation takes effect for the next billing period unless stated otherwise. Refunds follow the terms shown at purchase and applicable law.
Account closure
You may ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. Public discussions may remain in de-identified form. Terms that by their nature should survive account closure, including ownership, retained-content licenses, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms, continue to apply.
Changes and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features and communities. We may update these terms as the Fold Network changes. We will update the effective date, give reasonable notice of material changes, and may ask signed-in members to accept the updated terms once for the entire Fold Network.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Fold Network is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the extent permitted by law, The Fold, Corp. and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or harm caused by third parties. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
Governing law
Washington law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class actions.
