David Fox, architect of Kirkland & Ellis’s $10.56B rise, launches Irving: AI-powered law firm plus investor-owned tech company

David Fox, the dealmaker who built Kirkland & Ellis into a $10.56 billion firm, co-founded Irving Technology, a software company powering a new AI-based law firm called Irving that combines a lawyer-owned firm with an investor-owned tech company to let outsiders own part of Big Law. The venture, run by fewer than 10 people, has raised seed funding from Narya Capital, Addition, former Kirkland chairman Jeff Hammes, and Antiportfolio Ventures, and its AI tooling performs at roughly the level of a strong senior associate.
