AI Startup Day at SURF Incubator

Seattle AI Week kicks off Monday, October 26, and SURF Incubator and The SWELL are hosting the whole first day.

We're calling it AI Startup Day. It runs from 10am to late, all at SURF, 999 3rd Ave, Suite 700. Every event is its own RSVP, so pick the parts that fit your day or stay for all of it.

Here's the lineup.

10am to 1pm: Founder Showcase
Early-stage founders on stage. Each gets a few minutes to pitch, then live, candid feedback from experienced operators and investors. Doors open at 10 for coffee and welcome remarks. We finish with lunch and networking. Come if you want to sharpen your story, find your next team to back, or see what Seattle is building.

1pm to 3pm: Building with AI: Founder Talks
Four builders, 30 minutes each, on what it takes to build with AI. Stephen McDonald on the Good Coffee journey. Rinkesh Petel on developing an AI-native product. Lauren Daniels Townsend on how AI-built software fails quietly and reports success, and how you find out. Aaron Bronow on how early-stage founders can build, swap and scale across any AI model without rewriting their codebase.

3pm to 6pm: Startup Panel + Happy Hour
The afternoon is about the realities of building a startup right now. At 3:30, a founder panel on what building with AI takes: what's working, what isn't, what they'd do differently. At 4:30, Janet Livingstone shares tools for emotional regulation to help you stay resilient through the ups and downs. At 5, happy hour. Mentors will be in the room wearing special badges, so find one and ask your questions.

6pm onward: A Luau for Startups
SURF turns 17, and we're celebrating with Seattle's startup community. Co-hosted with The SWELL and SoundStartups.org. Stay on from happy hour or come straight from work.
