Former DoD Nuclear Engineer Branden Doyle’s Violett Raises $400,000 to Sell UVC Cyclone Air Purifiers from 2020 Startup
Former DoD nuclear engineer Branden Doyle founded Seattle startup Violett in late 2020 to build portable air purifiers using UVC light and cyclone technology after finding existing products unreliable; the company sells mainly to healthcare and eldercare, reached schools and gyms, and raised $400,000 last year. Their units use a HEPA prefilter and an extended-exposure light chamber to disinfect about 800 sq ft in 15 minutes.
