Seattle startup Mast Reforestation developed a biomass burial method to permanently store carbon by burying wildfire-destroyed trees, aiding forest recovery and generating carbon credits. Their first project in Montana successfully buried 4,500 metric tons of biomass, selling 80% of the resultant carbon credits to fund land remediation.
