Seattle Ultrasonics’ Scott Heimendinger spent six years creating the $399 C-200 ultrasonic eight-inch chef’s knife
Scott Heimendinger, founder and CEO of Seattle Ultrasonics, spent nearly six years developing the C-200, an eight-inch ultrasonic chef's knife that uses subtle vibrations to reduce cutting force and prevent sticky foods from clinging to the blade. The idea came from industrial ultrasonic food-cutting machines Heimendinger saw online, and he overcame significant design and engineering challenges to miniaturize the technology for everyday kitchen use.
