Compass to Acquire Seattle Closing Tech Modus; 60+ Employees, Brand to Join and Software Integrated into 18,000-Agent Platform
Compass will acquire Modus, a Seattle startup that automates the title and escrow phase of home closings; Modus’s 60+ employees and brand will join Compass and its software will be integrated into Compass’s platform used by over 18,000 agents. Founded in 2018 and having raised about $14 million, Modus’s leadership said the acquisition aligns with Compass’s agent-focused strategy.
