Rebekah Bastian, CEO and co-founder of Seattle startup OwnTrail, coined the term "authentech" to describe a growing class of tech businesses centered on inclusive, authentic community connections after finding existing fundraising categories didn’t fit her company. She shared the idea on Twitter and Forbes and identified other startups embracing the concept.
