Curevo raises $60M to test shingles vaccine vs. GSK’s $2.3B-a-year Shingrix in 650+ person phase 2b trial

Seattle vaccine startup Curevo raised $60 million to fund a phase 2b trial comparing its shingles vaccine against GSK’s market-leading Shingrix, aiming to reduce side effects while preserving strong immune responses. The shot uses a non-living viral component plus a proprietary adjuvant and was developed through a 2018 partnership including GC Pharma, the Mogam Institute, and Seattle’s IDRI.
