Kitchenbowl founders Ryan Waliany and Serena Wu moved their four-person recipe app startup from near San Francisco to Seattle to access lower costs, a less competitive hiring market and untapped engineering talent; within weeks of launch the app reached No. 15 in Apple’s App Store Food & Drink category.
