Databricks has acquired Seattle startup Row Zero, which built a high-performance cloud spreadsheet for millions of rows, and plans to embed the technology into its platform and Genie AI assistant while keeping the standalone product available to existing users. Row Zero, founded in 2021 by former AWS engineers Breck Fresen and Nick End, raised a $10 million Series A and will leverage Databricks’ customer base to scale distribution.
